
Officials & Roles
All Parents of Club Members will be required to act as officials at meets. These roles vary from acting as Team Manager, simply filling a timekeeping slot, helping in marshaling, or undertaking roles as Inspector of Turns, Judge of Stroke, Recording or Check Starting.
Parents of swimmers who regular compete at swim meets are encourage to undertake Official Training and become accredited. Members who receive accreditation in 2 roles receive free club membership and free entry to Swimming SA meets where try are rostered on as an official.
Official Accreditation Steps
The first step in becoming a Technical Official is to complete the Introductory Level Officiating General Principles online course through the Australian Sports Commission.
Prospective Officials then have a broad range of choice in their first accreditation module. A lot of people start off by completing the Timekeeping module, as this is generally the most common area that people begin assisting with when they first volunteer.
