USC Coaching Team
Our coaching staff consist of a qualified head coach and three assistant coaches. All our qualified coaches have at least a Bronze Level Coaching Certificate accreditation, child protection and mandatory reporting certificates. The head coach is also a professional member of Australian Swimming Coaching and Teaching Association (ASCTA) and holds Gold Standard Qualifications. Our assistant coaches are skilled competitive swimmers and have experience at competing at a range of levels.
Head Coach:
Craig Jones

Craig is a life member who has been Head Coach of the Unley Swimming Club since 1999, with Silver and Gold Open Water Swimming level accreditation. With extensive success as a competitive swimmer in pool, surf, open water and triathlons, Craig has steered the club successfully with numerous State and National championships in all four disciplines. As a result, he has been awarded South Australian Surf Life Saving Coach of the year, recognised with a Coaching Merit Award from Swimming SA as well as South Australian Open Water Swimming Coach.
His coaching philosophy is built upon passing his knowledge, enthusiasm and passion onto swimmers and developing each individual’s talent to its fullest potential. In addition to his coaching he is currently undertaking an Exercise and Sports Science degree.
Assistant Coach:
Juliet Mulherin

Juliet has been a learn-to-swim teacher for five years, working with the Y, Surrey Park Swimming Club in Melbourne, and Unley Council swim school.
She completed her Foundation Coach certification in April 2023. Juliet is passionate about supporting swimmers to improve their stroke, build endurance, and ultimately reach their swimming goals.
When not coaching, she can be found training in the pool herself or with the masters, or open water swimming in the ocean.
